Charlie was a 6-year-old boxer who battled canine T-cell lymphoma bravely for 1 year before he lost his fight to this awful cancer in June 2015. This project was initially set up by Shaun, Charlie's dad, to help pay for Charlie's cancer treatments. Since Charlie has now earned his angel wings, Shaun is still continuing to paint in Charlie's memory and to continue Charlie's legacy of bringing more attention to canine cancer research and to bring smiles to the many fans Charlie gained in his short time here on earth who rooted for him and ordered paintings of their own beloved furkids.
Shaun never called himself an artist before this project. Dabbling with paints prior to Charlies cancer, he thought he could offer pet portraits to raise a little money for Charlies cancer treatments. After an an overwhelming response from the world over, Charlie's bad news turned into the greatest gift for all. Charlies story and Shaun's talent has gotten many peoples hearts to smile and sent paintings around the world.
At the time of this writing, (Jan, 2021) Shaun has completed thousands of paintings, all because of his little boy Charlie showing him the way.
